THIS WEEK’S EPISODE
EQUUS FILM FESTIVAL
Aired September 20, 2019
Just say the words: Walter Farley or The Black Stallion, Marguerite Henry, Black Beauty… or hear the theme to “The Man from Snowy River,” and horse lovers practically jump to attention.
The nature of art, literature, and film takes our already deeply embedded love of horses to an even more meaningful deeper level. And it’s something we can share with one another, even with the non-equestrians in our lives. Lisa Diersen, EQUUS Film Festival director and founder, understands this almost visceral connection probably better than most.
The EQUUS Film Festival is the premier showcase for domestic and international equestrian artistic content, from feature films and documentaries to music videos and commercials, educational material, and art and literature. The annual film festival is held in New York City and showcases content that illustrates the rich history and diverse tapestry of horses around the world. From there, the festival goes on tour and the content is also offered in an on-demand platform for viewers to enjoy more broadly.
